Mornington Peninsula: Darling Park Winery

Mornington Peninsula: Darling Park Winery

morning1Scarcely an hour drive from the Melbourne is the Mornington Peninsula, a lesser known wine region than Yarra Valley but with some beautiful Pinot Noirs to boast of. We rocked up at the Darling Park Winery with a group of 6 adults and 2 kids, and although they were packed to capacity with the long weekend crowds, they managed to find us a corner table in their outdoor, covered patio. The menu is varied, with antipasto platters, lamb tagines and smoked salmon, plus children’s sandwiches (tomato and cheese or ham and cheese) for AUD 6 each.

There is a little sandy play area outside and a few toys inside to keep the little ones entertained, but no high chairs, so be prepared.

All in all, a cute, no-hassles place to stop for a nice glass of sparkling rose, and some food with the kids.
