Budapest: Dine Like a Local in Kid-Friendly Environs in Liszt Ferenc Square

Smell the flowers at Liszt Ferenc SquareStroll off crowded and touristy Andrassy avenue to find Liszt Ferenc Square, Budapest’s newest hotspot sporting cafes serving local and international cuisines. The restaurants are lined up on either side of a shady square which means that the baby has running space without fear of heavy traffic ( note: this is not a complete pedestrian zone but cars are scarce). We particularly recommend Karma, a sort of Asian-fusion joint where the goulash is as good as the lamb biryani. Karam had the sesame fried rice with vegetables (ask for a half portion) and loved it to the last grain. They had high chairs but he much preferred to run up and down the pavements which suited us fine because we were too busy feasting on the cocktails:try the Brasilia!

Note: we found food in Budapest expensive so don’t think these are tourist prices.
