prag51. While there are mini markets around the cities, Alberts and Tesco are the big supermarket chains for all your grocery needs including baby products like foods, diapers and wipes.

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA2. Walking around the old town is particularly difficult in Prague because of the nature of the cobblestone streets but its the easiest way to get around. Just be prepared to put some work into your arms and your wheels. And for heaven’s sake, don’t wear heels.

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA3. Lots of elegant wooden toys and hand-made puppets in Prague Check out the cool handmade toys at Manufaktura or the selection at Sparkys (also at the airport if you want to spend your last few karuna (19 to one USD).

 

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA4. Since the Czech Republic is world renowned for its crystal, a great souvenir for the family is a 3d crystal photo, done at a couple of places in the old town. Of course you have to get your baby to sit still for four seconds, which hurts more than the price (USD 200 onwards). But if you’re a sucker for keepsakes and souvenirs, it’s worth it!

5. I have nothing but good things to say about the Czech people. From the hotel staff to shopkeepers to the security at the airport, people laughed and smiled with Karam, which as we know, is such a deal breaker when you visit a new country.

6. If you stay in the touristy bits, English is spoken by almost everyone.

7. Useful words in Czech are:

* Doctor – doktor
* Taxi – taxíka
* Emergency – krize
* Bathroom – koupelna
