Prague: Hotel Pachtuv Palace, An Unreal Find

Prague: Hotel Pachtuv Palace, An Unreal Find

prag10This gem is a designated small luxury hotel and can be found just off the base of the Charles Bridge in the Old Town of Prague. No major driveways or showy valets, the entrance is a discreet door on a small side street, only those in the know know. The hardest part is finding it and then it’s all magic.

prag12We paid 125 euro/ night for a glorious room with a massive living room and adjoining bedroom. There was a small kitchenette (concealed inside a cupboard) with a fridge, microwave, sink and two-burner stove. The baby cot was set up with soft linens and a little teddy bear and the bathroom was equipped with children’s soap and a baby potty. It was literally, perfect.

prag8The large living room wreaked of Victorian elegance, and it was so spacious and comfortable that we might not have ventured out on some days, if we had more time in Prague. Plus there was the welcome basket with fruit and perfectly chilled sparkling wine. Aaaahhhh, bliss!

In terms of space, facilities, location, price and service this place hit all the marks and we were blown away.

prag7Then we had breakfast. If you are lucky enough to be visiting over a weekend, avail of the Mozart breakfasts during which a four-piece ensemble accompanies your eggs to order and freshly squeezed juice ( high chairs available). It was completely magical.

prag6We don’t know why it is so cheap, and we don’t care. Definitely one of the places we would return to with multiple children of any age, or just by ourselves.
