Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

brazil10Thinking of Brazil conjures up images of sun, sand and samba and Rio is at the heart of all the versatility and energy that this nation encompasses. The “Marvelous City”, as it is called, is the most visited metropolis in South America with all its natural and cultural offerings. Rio will be hosting the 2016 Olympics so better get your visit in now before it gets too expensive!

Rio’s closest international airport is Galeão – Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport (better known as Galeão International Airport). You can get a direct flight from New York, Miami, Houston and other major cities in the US, as well as from Paris, Madrid, London and Frankfurt in Europe. You can find plenty of information on getting to Rio de Janeiro on the web.

We love Rio’s vibe and the fact that every street is a party, at any time of the day. Rio has a rightful reputation of being a dangerous city but with your wits about you (and this Momaboard section), you and your family can have a wonderful time in an amazing country.
