Favorite Travel Accessory: CoulVue iPad Mount

coulvue2This is a great travel accessory if you are on a road trip or going to be in a car for a lot of your travels. The CoulVue iPad mount is light, compact and highly effective as a tool to attach your Ipad to the back of a headrest for the kids’ entertainment and your peace and quiet. I love the concept, and I love the implementation. Here’s why:

- Easy installation, 2 screws and maybe 60 seconds with 2 people
- Tilts and rotates for all access views
- Arm extends forward for access to touchpad and to play games
- Firm and secure
- coulvueGreat price: at $80 for the mount and about USD500 for the ipad, it’s a helluva lot cheaper than installing a dvd player into your car (about USD 2000). You could even get 2 and still come out on top! (The CoulVue can straddle two seats so you can get away with one as long as you have kids that want to watch the same thing).

Cons:
- It’s presence in a parked car may be a signal for thieves. No more than leaving a GPS mount though.
- Different ones for the iPad 1 and 2 because of the varying dimensions of the 2 devices
- No way to fold it when mounted so you have to be careful not to hit the kids in the head as they come in and out of the car.

Seriously though, the cons are minor compared to the benefits we have seen with this cool little invention. Even if you are traveling – it takes up hardly any space or weight in your bag so definitely a portable and therefore, worthwhile investment!

Full disclosure: I received this product to review from the company but my assessment is completely genuine and honest. I get no kickbacks from sales.
