Summer or winter’s over and you are looking forward to trips coming ahead. The good news is that it’s a big world out there, and if you are open to exploring, some of the best travel destinations in the world await you in the month of September, which is a mid-season month more or less around the globe. Since it’s technically off-peak, you can enjoy some low cost holidays during this time and who doesn’t love that?
This is a city that has something for everyone and in the month of September the weather is still mild and welcoming. Celebrate Diade de Catalunya (Catalan National Day) on September 11th or the Festes de la Mercè from the 22nd to the 25th, which is a city-wide street party with dancers, dwarfs, and exhibits. And of course, the regular wonders still remain as an attraction: Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia, and the beach!
To make the most of the last of the good weather, Moscow is buzzing in September. Moscow City Days are observed during the first week (3-4) to celebrate the birth of the city and is a wonderful event where many of the streets become pedestrian only. From the 23rd to the 27th of September one can experience the Circle of Light Festival, where the city’s most iconic buildings such as the Bolshoi Theatre and Moscow State University are transformed into canvases for elaborate audiovisual displays. Definitely one of the best travel destinations in September.
Head down to the city by the Bay this September for its “Indian Summer”, when the temperatures really rise. Aside from the usual attractions for visitors such as stunning views, great food, and a glimpse into the epicenter of the tech revolution that is sweeping the world, September is an active and interesting month for the city. From the 3rd to the 5th enjoy the Sausalito Art Festival, from the 9th to the 24th the city comes alive with the Fringe Festival bringing new shows and entertainment every day, and from September 10 to 11 enjoy a chocolate fest at Ghirardelli Square. Music lovers will enjoy the Bay Area Blues Festival (Sept. 24 and 25) and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass which is a free celebration of blues, bluegrass and indie rock music. Those looking for a more alternative touch can hit up Folsom Street Fair on the 25th but leave the kids home for this one.
September is the best time to visit Tel Aviv as temperatures as still beach-worthy in the 70s and 80s and tourists head home. Tel Aviv is a haven for music lovers this September with Ricky Martin on the 14th, Yael Naim on the 27th, and Armin van Buuren on the 29th. Sporty types can check out the 18th European Wakeboard and Wakestate Championship from the 16th to the 21st, in addition to a number of other events around the city.
